I am still playing the waiting game. I have still not received the official results of my tests, and now I am starting to get annoyed. I have been very patient. How long does it take?
I have decided to call the specialist on Monday. I will politely ask him to get off his butt and authorize my registration. There is really no reason for him not to. I want this all done by the end of the year.
In sparring news:
Remember when I sparred that big MMA jiu-jitsu guy last month at Bloor?
Well, he has not been around for a while.
He was back last Thursday, to kick my butt. He must have been away practicing boxing, while I was coasting.
I have to admit, I do get a bit cocky at Bloor sometimes. Right now, I am one of their best boxers.
It is human nature to slack off when you feel there is no need to work. This happens in sports all the time. 'Why should I work on getting better, when I am already the best?'
...because one day someone will come along who is better, and kick your butt all over the place.
That is exactly what happened to me last week. Mr. Big-Shot MMA, whom I poked fun at on this blog, made me look really bad in front of my team mates. Oh, yeah. He wiped up the canvas with my face.
Okay, so I was not at my best, and he got lucky...that time. Now I have an incentive to raise the bar, and be ready for him next time.
In other boxing news, McGrory's Boxing Club in Hamilton has successfully found a new home, after being given the boot from the Normanhurst Community Centre, where they had been since 1965.
I started my boxing career at McGrory's in 1983, with Coach Vinnie Ryan, who is still coaching there.
Last month, the City of Hamilton issued an eviction notice to McGrory's so they can use the space for something else. For the last month, the club feared that it would have to permanently close.
However, St. Ann's Church, a few blocks down the street, has offered a spot for the gym to use.
McGrory's has been saved, thanks to the generosity of the church.
Another reminder, Saturday evening is live boxing at Stockyards. Tickets are $20 at the door, 215 Ryding Avenue (St. Clair and Runnymede).
D-I-T-O Productions will be video recording all of the bouts. Most of the bouts with Stockyards boxers will be available on YouTube within a few days. Other bouts will be uploaded by request only.
Also, the results will be posted here on Sunday.

Eh bien, il n'a pas été autour pendant un moment.
Il était de retour jeudi dernier, à me botter le cul. Il doit avoir été loin pratiquant la boxe, alors que j'étais en roue libre.
Je dois admettre, je ne reçois un peu arrogant parfois au coin de Bloor. En ce moment, je suis l'un de leurs meilleurs boxeurs.
C'est la nature humaine à se relâcher quand vous sentez qu'il n'est pas nécessaire de travailler. Ce qui se passe dans le sport tout le temps. «Pourquoi devrais-je travailler sur de mieux en mieux, quand je suis déjà le meilleur?
... Parce qu'un jour quelqu'un viendra qui est mieux, et botter le cul dans tous les sens.

En boxe d'autres nouvelles, McGrory du Club de boxe à Hamilton a réussi à trouver une nouvelle maison, après avoir reçu l'amorçage à partir du Centre de Normanhurst communautaire, où ils avaient été depuis 1965.
