DIDN'T HAPPEN

Well, as you may have guessed, my match with Phil didn't happen.
Boxing Ontario would not approve it, because he had 12 bouts back in 1984.
Yeah, and....?

Anyway, another of Boxing Ontario's stupid rules.

Don't get me wrong. I like the Boxing Ontario officials. They are nice people, but the have to follow the rules.
My problem is with the organization. Too many rules. Boxing Ontario is to sports what Kim Jong-un is to North Korea.

Speaking of...

I received this email from Blogger yesterday:

Dear Blogger User,

We're writing to tell you about an upcoming change to the Blogger Content
Policy that may affect your account.

In the coming weeks, we'll no longer allow blogs that contain sexually
explicit or graphic nude images or video. We'll still allow nudity
presented in artistic, educational, documentary, or scientific contexts, or
where there are other substantial benefits to the public from not taking
action on the content.

The new policy will go into effect on the 23rd of March 2015. After this
policy goes into effect, Google will restrict access to any blog identified
as being in violation of our revised policy. No content will be deleted,
but only blog authors and those with whom they have expressly shared the
blog will be able to see the content we've made private.

Our records indicate that your account may be affected by this policy
change.
Please refrain from creating new content that would violate this
policy. Also, we ask that you make any necessary changes to your existing
blog to comply as soon as possible, so that you won't experience any
interruptions in service. You may also choose to create an archive of your
content via Google Takeout

So, according to Google (My absolute favorite Internet company), my blog that I write about boxing, contains nudity and sexually explicit content?

This is where I would make a comment that would contain one of the following words: "idiot", "stupid", or "moron".
This time, I will let you pick one.

I had a feeling this would happen, because the [idiots, stupids, morons](insert one here) at Google have been [idiots, stupids, morons](insert one here) for a long time with my other Google services. It was only a matter of time before this one was affected.

I don't know when or how this will happen, but I am currently working on a replacement blog at Wordpress.
Don't be surprised, in a few weeks, you see a major move.

I HATE FAT

Yesterday, I had my weight and body fat checked, and I have to say, I was very happy.
My weight is down to 82 kg, that's 180 pounds, but the biggest nice surprise was my body fat percentage. I am down to 12.8 %. That puts me in the 'athletic' range. Which, according to the American Council on Exercise, is right where I should be.
Yay, me.

I could drop more, and I intend to.

If I look back to four years ago, I was 223 pounds, at 25% fat.
It took four years, no miracle treatment, no drugs, just plain diet and exercise.
I had high cholesterol and blood pressure, and my doctor said that if I did not do something about it, I could have a heart attack.
I took him seriously, and look where I am now.

If I can do it, anyone can. Especially, if you are older.
Although I am proud of what I have achieved, I am not saying this to brag, or to make anyone feel bad. It is to encourage people.
As I keep saying, you are never too old.
If you are tired of being a fat-ass, get off your ass, and work on it.
I can say that, because I was there.

That being said, I have to congratulate Oliver Kladnick's father...

Mister Kladnik's Turn, Too

Vladdy (please correct me if the spelling is wrong), Oliver's father has said that he wants to get back into boxing.
I sparred him a few days ago, and he is pretty good. Hits hard for an older guy.
I think he used to be a professional boxer at one time.

Right now, he is out of shape. This according to Richard.
However, he is working on getting into shape, and I hope he gets to compete soon. I hope is opponent is younger, and that he knocks his opponent right onto his ass. I really do.

Congratulations to Mr. Kladnick for attempting a comeback.
I guess all the message I am trying to get out there is working.

The Technology Time-Machine

How much can a city change in seven years?
A lot.

I was experimenting with the new Google Street View Archives, that allow you to view a street the way it was back to 2007. I guess that was the first time Google had Street View.

Here are some 'before and after' shots of areas a frequent or used to frequent.

Actually, they are more 'after and before'.
Some changes are very subtle, and some are huge:

Possible Opponent For February 21

Richard has found me a guy to fight on February 21.
His name is Phil. Sorry, I don't know his last name, yet.
His background in boxing is the same as mine. He boxed back in the 80s and 90s, stopped,, and is now coming back.
The only problem is that he was an Open Division boxer, back then, but now he is in the Master's Division, so it should not matter.
He is also slightly lighter, but I have no problem losing a bit.
I have two weeks.

Does the Master's Division Give Event Organizers An Excuse To Age Discriminate?

I was speaking with a freind who worked with me at Bell, and he was asking if I had made it to the Pan Am Games.
I mentioned that I didn't, since there is no Master's Division in The Pan Am Games, just as there is none in the Brampton Cup.
He then made an interetsing statement, 'That is age discrimination'.
You know, I had never thought of it before, but it is.
The idea of a Master's Division is shorter rounds, a minute and a half, instead of three minutes.
However, there is a good point. To not offer the Master's Division when there are people willing to participate is a form of discrimination. It is a violation of the Human Rights Act.
You want to see how fast people bitch if they did not offer the Female Division?
Why is this not being looked into by Boxing Ontario? They should be enforcing that.

In the United States, I think near Chicago, there is a boxing tournament in August specifically for Master's.
I am going to mention that to Richard. I'd love to be in that.

Frustrated At Freddy's

Okay, so ever since I read the short story 'Five Nights At Freddy's', I have have been playing the game.
I have to tell you, this is one of the most frustrating games I have ever played.
I have been stuck on Night Two for nine times.
That game has now officially started pissing me off.

From Bathurst To Jane In Just Two Hours!

Here it is. More ranting!

Okay, so the TTC has stooped to an all new low. Yesterday, coming home from work, took two hours!
Yes, that's two hours from Bathurst and St. Clair to Jane and St. Clair. That is a 15-minute drive, maximum.
It did not help that the Bathurst bus was over 40 minutes late. There was supposed to be a bus at 6:42, and the next at 6:57. Neither of those showed up. Then the next at 7:09, didn't get there until 7:14.
That is two no-shows, and one late.
You know what that reminds me of? Mississauga Transit.

Oh no! The TTC is getting as bad as Mississauga, and that really scares me.

Anyway, once I boarded the bus, it was so crowded, my face was literally plastered agaist the front door.

Thene, here is the kicker, the driver -yes, driver- started to complain.
Sidenote: Does the driver really have any right to complain at this point?
Anyway, he went on to complain about the scheduling, and TTC management doesn't know what they are doing....yadda, yadda....
Excuse me, but it has nothing to do with management.
When I see bus drivers farting around at the terminals, yapping on the phone, yapping to each other, spending 20 minutes in the washroom, doing things I don't want to know...
The only fault with TTC management is that they are letting it happen.

I am going to start video recording it, and putting it on the internet, so everyone can see how bad it is.

I think there needs to be a massive lay-off at the Toronto Transit Commission.

Do you people see why this annoys me, and why I complain?
20 minues for that trip? I can walk that in less time!

...and the TTC wants to increase the fare.
Why? So we can wait even longer for a bus?

TTC Idiots.
They are in the running for the 2015 Dunce Award.
Good job.

The Brick, Charity Case

ENTRY 219

Next scheduled bout: February 21, opponent TBA

No sparring this week.

======================================

Richard Wants 'The Brick' To Do Charity Work

Well, a happy ending to the issue at Stockyards.
Richard came around and started talking to me again. I still don't know what went wrong, but the main thing is things are back to 'normal'.

He asked me if I was in shape...'Fighting shape'.
Of course, I responded, "Yes".

He asked me if I wanted to be in the Victory Charity Ball, with my fellow boxer Thomas, who will be representing Intact Insurance.
Thomas is in the main event, and this will be his first bout.
Yeah, no pressure there.

I don't mind. I like doing the charity events.
Anytime Richard wants me to do such an event, I will. As long as I get to box, that's fine.

So, for those of you who can afford to drop $250 on boxing tickets, may see 'The Brick' box on March 6 at Direct Energy Centre.

I also may be in the Stockyard's card on February 21.
No opponent yet, but I am still trying to get Mark Laidman.

That's all. A small update this time.
After all, what else is there to do when the temperature is minus 20 with snow above the ankles?

Happy Snow Day.
