...Siberia Boxing Club, That Is
I will be going to speak with the coach of the Siberia Boxing Club.
I am still looking for alternatives to Stockyards.
Cabbagetown is no longer an option, since it is too far to travel.
Gideon is too far away as well.
I can't seem to reach anyone at Sully's.
That leaves Atlas or Siberia.

There may be a few others to look at as well.
The Siberia club looks interesting, as they have an 'extensive competitive program'. Although, I have never heard of them or any of their boxers.
Also, they teach a form of boxing known as "Russian boxing".
My only question is, 'What is the difference between Russian boxing and other types of boxing, except that it is taught by a Russian coach?
This is the best I could find:
In 1941 the most important then Soviet specialist in Boxing, K.V. Gradopolov, wrote a book about the right way to fight with fists. In that book, he offered a new exercise, called "group boxing", and he mentioned it was an ancient Russian sport (what he was talking about, was the "Stenka na Stenku" version).*
*Wikipedia
Stenka na Stenku, aside from being a Russian heavy metal band, is a form of boxing where several men fight in the ring simultaneously, with rules.
I hope that is not what they are teaching there.
Siberia Boxing is far from where I live. It is near Dufferin and Finch. It would take two buses, and about 40 minutes to get there.
However, if they can offer me something unique, take me seriously, and offer me a decent rate, I will take them into strong consideration.
I have to renew my registration with Boxing Ontario within the next five months, so this is the best time to change clubs.
In addition to Siberia, I am also considering talking to the coach at Atlas Boxing Club.
It is also rather far, near Yorkdale Mall.
Although, deep down, I really don't want to have to leave Stockyards. I have friends there.
For now, I am not going to do any extra training. Just the bare minimum. I am not going to waste time working hard for nothing.
I certainly don't need to lose any more weight. I am going to disappear.
I have recently had my annual check-up with my physician, and he said that my weight was right-on for my height and stature.
All I have to do is maintain.
As far as competition goes, it ultimately comes down to who can get me bouts first.
Yes. I want coaches to be able to confirm opponents. Not just, "I'm looking".
I want at least four more before I retire from boxing.
Let me rephrase that, I want to win four before I retire.
I want to see if Stockyards can get me two bouts before the end of the year. That should not be hard to do.
I find it hard to believe that between Niagara Falls, London, Barrie and Peterborough (a 350 km radius), within the most populated area of the country, that there is absolutely nobody who comes close to my stats.
Sorry. I don't buy it.
This is a competition.
I'm not in it.
I'm the head official.

Good post Paul. This is truly what I expect to read when I visit here. I am not interested in complaints about transit or other things. AS a reader of a blog I look for what the content is supposed to be about, in this case your challenges as a boxer. Keep writing on this topic and your blog will gain high praise and good rankings. MY suggestion, dump the complaints about things like transit it's a turn off not a turn on to the blog.
