Training For the Cup and Serious Sparring Continues

ENTRY 289



BRAMPTON CUP TRAINING BY DAY

From now until the Brampton Cup, I will be tracking my training and performance.
This will also, hopefully, show all of my readers the preparation needed for such a competition. 

Sunday

Training with Coach Will: 15 mins. of stretching and warm-up, pad word and footwork drills. 6 rounds of shadow boxing, 150 squats, 50 push-ups, 2 rounds of sparring with Kofi w/ focus on defence,15 mins. abdominal conditioning, 1 round of shadow boxing with weights, 5 rounds on heavy bag, stretching and cool-down. Weigh-in @ 186/84.5. Total time at gym: 2 hrs.

Monday

Training with Coach Richard: 15 mins. of stretching and warm-up, 5 rounds of shadow boxing, 200 squats, 40 push-ups, 25 dips, 2 rounds of sparring with Newton w/ focus on footwork and movement, 10 mins. abdominal conditioning, 3 rounds on heavy bag, stretching and cool-down. Weigh-in @ 186/84.5, Total time at gym: 1 hr. 30 mins.

Tuesday

Training with Coach Richard: 15 mins. of stretching and warm-up, 3 rounds of shadow boxing, 150 squats, 30 push-ups, 50 dips, 2 rounds of sparring with Michael w/ focus on offence and combinations,15 mins. abdominal conditioning, 4 rounds on heavy bag, stretching and cool-down. Weigh-in @ 185/84. Total time at gym: 1 hr. 15 mins.

Many thanks to all of my team mates who helped me with training and sparring this week. Including, but not limited to, Kofi, Newton, Michael and also Coach Will and Coach Richard.
Remember, we are all on the same team. We will be going to the Brampton Cup as a team.
Let's work together and show Ontario, show Canada, that Toronto, and in particular, Stockyards has the best boxers. Go team.
